On 30th of December 2007 about 30 dinghies and about 84 people left the Club for a Christmas Sail to Greenhithe.
There were visitors from the London Nautical School, visitors from Stubbers and a contingent of EYC dinghies. In fact 9 different centres/clubs were represented. The fleet was made up of 12 different designs of dinghy. 6 Omegas, 6 Bosuns, 6 Stratos Keels, 2 GP14's, 1 Albacore, 2 Wayfarers, 1 Xenon, 1 RS400, 1 Osprey, 2 Hamble Stars, 1 Fireball 1 Skipper 14 and 2 International Snipes. Safety cover was provided by 3 RIB's the EYC diesel workboat and two EYC Cruisers were in attendance.
A light NW wind carried all the boats and the well wrapped up crews down to Greenhithe where buoys were picked up and sailors were ferried ashore to the Pier Hotel. The Pier Hotel knew we were coming and pre-ordered meals were ready.
On the way back the flood tide, over the wind, strengthened the breeze to give a good sail (to those who knew how to keep in the tide!) All the boats were brought ashore and crews retired to the bar where a raffle was held to decide the "winner" of the days sail.
